Remote Peer Disconnected

I have this same problem now myself. The most strange part is, if I launch from the GUI menu, it fails with this error. If I launch from a command terminal, it works fine using the same command from the KDE GUI menu. Doesn’t make any sense at all.

Note this happened after the latest patch.

I have converted your post to a dedicated thread where it can attract maximum attention.

Please provide the neccessary information for others to help you discover if indeed it is the same problem.

Note:- The forum might be a little slow this time of year. Any information in addition to the system information requested may also be helpful.

Please take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements; in particular, the many ways to use the forum to your benefit:

Regards.

Thanks for the info. Note, this is not OS breaking, just annoying. I assume a new user however might get detered by it. I can leave it as is, or remove Pamac and reinstall Pamac to see if that fixes it… I will wait for someone to advise me on testing for a fix before I try to fix it myself. This will maybe let us find the root cause.

If I had to guess, the root cause may be with GTK4. I had another issue with this app and super large mouse cursor sizes and GTK4. I hear there is a fix for this in March 2025, but the workaround for now is to not use Breeze icons. This of course is a totally unrelated issue.

This current problem for the original issue is I get the following message when launching Pamac from the KDE GUI menu:

Checking what is in the KDE menu:

But if I run the same command in a terminal window, it works fine with no errors, only a warning:

/bin/pamac-manager %U  ✔

(pamac-manager:55897): Adwaita-WARNING **: 18:33:33.462: Using GtkSettings:gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme with libadwaita is unsupported. Please use AdwStyleManager:color-scheme instead.

As you are using Plasma, you might find that replacing pamac-gtk with pamac-gtk3 (which does not rely on Adwaita) works better on your system. Just run the command:

pamac install pamac-gtk3
1 Like

Yeah, this works. I like the GTK3 version better anyway. Forgot why I went to GTK4 for this thing.

Thx for the tip.

To be clear, installing pamac-gtk3 solved your issue?

If so, please mark the post that solved it (or helped you solve it) as the solution. As a member since 2021 you know how it works.

Yep, it is solved. Still playing with it, but this is a good workaround.
