I’ve done some mistakes that I do not know how to fix that cause my DE to never start automatically and I have to CTRL+ALT+F2 to switch to a terminal and run “startplasma-wayland” manually.
This itself has gotten annoying and not to mention the unstability I have caused myself.
I wish to reinstall manjaro and with a diffrent DE or WM and I want i3 . but i dont want to wipe all my data with a USB install.
I wish I could find a way to install on top of my already existing install and apply to necessary changes. such as changing config files etc.
this seems possible. yet I lack the knowledge to do such thing. I’ve asked in arch discord servers but I got bullied . I hope this community is better
Don’t do it. It will be a mess. Better start a new.
My distro is already a mess man. i installed like 11 kernels and 3 desktop environments that I had no idea how to configure
'cause of this…don’t do it…
move the data you want to keep somewhere and make a new install.
will saving you much trouble and nerves…
Edit:
ok
Where Using an Existing Linux Partition Table
nevertheless…backup the data, you want to keep.
may you post the output of
inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width
use the option of preformatted text and paste it inside
I hope that’s going to be useful

I guess you’re right. I thought there would be an easy way to switch distros while keeping the important data. after all, it’s all linux
see my edit above…
After the reinstallation, i would recomment creating a new clean user and move your data into it.
Hey that partition thing seems like it was what I was expecting to find here. that seems like the way to go. Thanks man I’ll dive in deeper into that stuff.
That drive is full, better clean up or move your data to other storage before you install anything else.
yes and that’s one of the reasons i wanted to switch from KDE in the first place and due to my lack of knowledge I wrecked many stuff in the process
