When I plug a USB flash drive to my laptop, it used to be the case that it would automatically mount it. It would show a notification, whose contents I don’t remember exactly, but one of the options was to click on it and open it in Dolphin.
Now, instead, when I plug in any USB drive, I get this notification:
and not only doesn’t it give me an option to open it, but also nothing shows up under Disks and Devices:
Any idea?
I tried several times with 3 different USB drives (all of which used to work) with the same results.
I restarted and tried again and still didn’t work.
Then I ran udevadm monitor from a terminal and plugged the USB drive while that was running, and this time it worked. I stopped udevadm monitor and tried again, and again, and now it seems to always work.
(note: please do NOT marked this as solved, the issue went away for now but we don’t know why. I want to get to the bottom of this, and/or know who to report the bug to)
