I have been having this problem and none of these fixes work, either the file formatting is wrong as listed or even when I fix it to make it right nothing has changed. I’ve tried this thread, a bunch of other threads on other forums, talking to stupid AI, talking to friends, there is no escape from this problem and I hate to go to another operating system because of this very very silly problem which I did not have until I reformatted this year. Last image of manjaro this never happened, there was no problems like this. I’m at a complete loss because what everyone has said about this does not help, nothing works, doesn’t matter what I change. Any advice? Because I am very very frustrated and nothing is working over and over again and it is so stupid to me. Going over the logs I can see my efforts and how nothing I do will stop the system from going into one of these states.

… a pretty low/small one, but still:
a wall of text
And pretty vague as well.
You did … something - in order to achieve your goal.
What was that something?
Why is it a problem? - Just don’t instruct the system to do it.
Because:
it won’t do it when you do not tell it to …
I apologize for a purely emotional post when what is needed is technical details, which means this post is going to be long. I appreciate the ready to help responses and the patience with my unhelpful initial description!

Previously I had followed the process in which this thread was from, that is making the new directories with conf files to attempt to forbid the action set but I was unable to have that work. I will happily follow a process with proof of action to attempt to resolve this. Thank you!!
… but this thread is new and you are new here - so I’m scratching my head what thread and process you are referring to …
personal note, ignore at your (in)convenience):
you should not have chosen that avatar name for you - not good for your soul
ps:
I just saw this thread here:
I wonder how you hibernate since you do not have swap…
[HowTo] Disable / Turn off Hibernate completely!
A post was split to a new topic: RE: [HowTo] Disable / Turn off Hibernate completely!
see my last post - I just discovered that
but not from any hint in this post here - I just read, as I do - through the recent posts
and connected the dots
addition, after I looked back:
there was a hint at the bottom of the initial post here
I missed that.
Sorry!
Testing on my system to confirm sleep/suspend/hibernate is disabled:
$ systemctl sleep
Call to Sleep failed: None of the configured sleep operations are supported
$ systemctl suspend
Call to Suspend failed: Sleep verb 'suspend' is disabled by config
$ systemctl hibernate
Call to Hibernate failed: Sleep verb 'hibernate' is disabled by config
$ systemctl hybrid-sleep
Call to HybridSleep failed: Sleep verb 'hybrid-sleep' is disabled by config
To remove buttons for Sleep, Hibernate and Hybrid-Sleep from Xfce logout dialog:
xfconf-query -c xfce4-session -np '/shutdown/ShowHibernate' -t 'bool' -s 'false'
xfconf-query -c xfce4-session -np '/shutdown/ShowSuspend' -t 'bool' -s 'false'
xfconf-query -c xfce4-session -np '/shutdown/ShowHybridSleep' -t 'bool' -s 'false'
[SOLVED] remove "switch user" buttons from logout dialog & lockscreen / Desktop / Xfce Forums
Quite the conundrum, isn’t it?
System data shows boot parameters do not include resume=UUID=
for hibernation
