[RaspberryPi 5] Manjaro on RaspberryPi 5

Thanks. mesa-23.3.0-2 works well on GT King Pro so far.

Looks like it is going to be in linux-next.

https://lore.kernel.org/dri-devel/20231130164420.932823-2-mcanal@igalia.com/T/

so, linux-next should be 6.7 or 6.8, right?

I would guess a minimum of 6.8. Also Maíra Canal pushed a merge request yesterday for the code on the mesa side to match the kernel side. It is on hold until it can be rebased into their tree.

Don’t cross post please. This thread is about rpi5 and it’s mesa drivers.

If you want to discuss mesa in general then please create separate thread.

Thanks.

That’s very old and there is a replacement with aarch64 widevine pkg.

Mostly liked removed from aur already.

** For sure, this series also works in kernels without any CPU job capabilities.
build mesa-side, but did not work with some vulkan EXT samples.

I was so happy that widevine would finally be available in AUR, bug I cannot happen to find it, I only see a widevine-armv7h…

It is not visible in AUR but one can still clone it if it has not been removed.

git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/widevine-aarch64.git

Alas, I could compile and install it (geez it needs to recompile a whole patched glibc as well !) but yet Netflix complains and refuses to play

Also, I can’t run Firefox on the Pi5. it segfaults immediately.

Have you read this thread. Maybe something you mised.

Same here, I temporarily downgraded Firefox to 119.0 which works.

I wonder how much improvement there will be when the new v3dv: Introduce CPU jobs patches get implemented in the kernel and mesa.

And that’s going sometime next year… anyway, is there update on DHL?

Not really other than their logistics is a nightmare. It has been 3 weeks now since the PiHut in England shipped my pi5. It spent 13 days in Germany, 2 days in New York City and for some ungodly reason it has now been sitting in Jamacia for 3 days.

What ?

It came in States and went to Jamaica ?

I think dhl tracking is drunk lol.

Well it’s simmer to my national carrier. The most recent package looked like it was stuck in a Infinite Loop.

I built the stressberry package from arch-arm and ran a stress test on my pi5 today. I set my cpu frequency to 2800 and with RPi’s active cooling fan it did well. The fan seems to have 4 stages with it’s speeds from 0 to about 6200 rpm’s. It kept my cpu temp in the low to upper 60’s C. The cpu will throttle back at 80C so there is plenty of cushion.

The plot needs to be upgraded for the pi5. It’s upper cpu frequency stops at 1600. Note the orange in the plot only shows up in the 5 minute cool down periods before and after the test is run.

Added 12-15-2023:

This got merged into mesa main yesterday. All you need now is it’s counterpart in the kernel to be merged.

I’m wondering what’s with the Glitching mouse cursor? Or it’s just me. It’s fine with piOS.

Nothing wrong here. In /boot/cmdline.txt try increasing the value of usbhid.mousepoll=8 a little at a time and rebooting. If it is wireless maybe getting interference from wifi, ssd or Monitor.
