This is not a conventional support request. I am looking for Manjaro users willing to test an unofficial native community build of the Proton VPN GTK app.
The project integrates the newer Smart and Stealth protocol work from Proton’s released source with a local Arch/Manjaro build path. It was created because some of us prefer a native package workflow over Flatpak or Snap for this use case.
The upstream Proton code is currently described as beta. This community build is likewise experimental, is not endorsed by Proton AG or Manjaro, and is not intended to replace the existing Proton VPN AUR package.
I am specifically interested in reports on:
- build and installation
- login and connection lifecycle
- Smart and Stealth connection behavior
- connect/disconnect reliability
- kill-switch behavior
- clean removal or recovery after a failed connection
Repository and build instructions:
Please test only if you are comfortable recovering NetworkManager settings and collecting logs. Include your Manjaro branch, NetworkManager version, kernel, package/build output, and relevant logs in any report.
