Are normally found in System Settings > System > Autostart
What exactly did you install and how?
Maybe sdrangel-bin
from the AUR?
You probably have Plasma start with a saved session. Set it up to start with a blank session first, log out, and then log back in. Report back on whether it makes a difference.
yes the AUR bin the actual program works fine it is jut i dont need it auto starting every time i boot the PC
Ah, was going to add a bit about sessions but no need now.
As an aside - even with sessions inadvertently saved - Iâm still surprised at how many people apparently just hit âshutdownâ with X number of windows open.
Here that would only really happen in the case of some sort of freeze.
That will delete a lot of stuff i d not really want to have to go thru setting up aagain . I use folder view dont really want to have to redo all that
If you are using saved sessions then the session is going to be reloaded the same way it was left ⌠thats kinda the point.
So if sdrangel
is left open with a saved session it follows that it would be there again when that session is loaded - if not desired then sdrangel
should be closed before saving the session.
It might be noted also that there is more than just on/off for the sessions and you have the option to set Session Restore to âWhen session is manually savedâ as well.
Maybe thatâs exactly why they do so â they see their computers as appliances and treat them as such.
Likewise. Whenever I need to reboot or shut down â the latter being rare and usually only due to an announced power outage â I always close every application window manually first, just so as to make sure that there arenât any pending I/O operations anywhere when the system goes down. Iâve seen too many race conditions in other distributions in the past, and it usually ends in a bad manner.
That said, I think that exiting with a saved session is probably the default in Plasma ISOs these days. Not a good decision, but then again, I donât make the ISOs.
I never used to shut the system down but being a pensioner on the lowwer end of the pension scale i cant afford to leave it running i will have a look at the suggestions tomorrow
Thanks Folk

Iâve experienced quite a number of issues - clashes between SESSION and AUTOSTART.
The last time I had a saved session I ended up with extra instances of Conky stacked on top of each other - it was crazy and not easily explainedâŚ
So my advice is not to go with both - itâs a buggy recipe which can lead to glitchy execution.
You donât have to REMOVE autostart entries, just tick them off to disable them, so what to do:
Sure, itâs much easier just to pull the plug out of the wall and actually not such a dangerous plan as it used to be unless you have spinning rust.
A fair few brown-outs around here lead to some very untidy shutdowns and to be fair Iâve found the system very robust in that respect⌠though my preference would be to stick with the rtc sleep/wake scheduler which allows me to get a nice wakeup alarm.
Right got it sorted many thanks folks change to
On login launch app that were open on last logout make sure sdrangel IS closed before shutting down
Thanks again all
