After installing a gtx 4080 gpu, my system is exhibiting odd behaviors. When booting I enter my password to unlock the encryption on the home partition, but the entry is no longer echoed back to me. It does still unlock, but the logon screen and plasma are scaled wrong. Everything is zoomed in too close to use. The application launcher covers the entire screen.

I’ve tried it with video-nvidia and video-hybrid-amd-nvidia-prime, it initially worked with the hybrid setup, then after reboot, the scaling problem happened.
The second tty is still stuck on the enter passphrase message although the partition is mounted.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Edit: I just tested booting into the installer image. Everything looked fine in there.

Test user has the same problem. Disconnection of the second monitor does fix the problem. I reconnected the monitor after logging in and reconfigured it. Then it works properly, but after rebooting the problem returns. Also the password input is being shown on the AMD graphics.
remove the following configs:
sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/nvidia.conf
sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf
reboot and see if it helped

Temporary success. On first reboot it worked, but on second reboot the problem returned.
check again if there wasnt some config recreated:
find /etc/X11/ -name "*.conf"
if not, delete also this:
sudo rm /etc/X11/mhwd.d/nvidia.conf
reboot

No files recreated. I have a workaround solution. I used a display port to hdmi adapter to connect the second monitor. After creating a new xorg.conf with nvidia-settings the problem is gone. Confirmed with multiple reboots.
Thank you for all your help brahma.
