I installed the latest Version of Manjaro with KDE plasma and everything is working for the moment. When I checked my journalctl I came across this error message:
kernel: nouveau 0000:08:00.0: bus: MMIO write of 800000d2 FAULT at 10eb14 [ IBUS ]
Can I just ignore this error, or what does this error mean? I tried to install the non free nvidea driver for my gtx 980 ti which solved this error but than I’m having a lot of trouble with my 4K dual monitor setup, like having just one desktop while the other stays black with no desktop interactivity and different
scaling on both monitors even though they are the same. So I don’t know which problem is easier to solve.
version of drivers is correct? support for your card in installed driver is present?or you install new drivwr that not support your card? try to find old version of driver? like 3xx.for example, in my 820m works only 399 driver. 4xx not work correct
I followed all steps and the message disappeared. After the first reboot there was even a desktop on my second monitor visible but after rebooting again the desktop stays black only my default panel is visible. I cant even make a right click on this screen. When I move any window on this screen the font is exploding, also the start screen has a higher scaling. I set a global scaling of 225% in the manjaro settings-manager, however the scaling is higher on the second screen. I’m now using the 440xx driver. Do you have any suggestions how I could solve this issue?
It seems like I could resolve this issue by going to manjaros system-settings and under fonts I disabled “Force font dpi”. Than I went to “Display Configuration” and changed the global scale back and forth. After a reboot everything was displayed correctly like it should. Thanks a lot for your help stephane.
