I must note that the community repo was deprecated over a year ago, so I suspect there’s rather a backlog of other system maintenance tasks.
I’d like to point you to a guide on dealing with a “stale” system but the search facility on this Forum isn’t too spectacular, as I guess you already know. I’ll continue to look into it as and when I can.

Im a blind dude around this gtk themes here and your problems with that, after that said watch my advise with a grain of salt. 
Worth it to create a Timeshift snapshot befor messing around with your system.
1.Did you already Merged successfull all needed files with pacdiff as @BG405 mentioned? And this doesn’t mean just simple overwrite or delete…
2.Give us your Output from: /home/ayx/.config/gtk-4.0/settings.ini
You probably just need to adjust this lane and put your new installed GTK Theme inside:

3.When option 2 isn’t working, Maybe logout, go in TTY or boot in live environment and rename your .cache folder in your home user profile (you can delete it later when everything is working) and reboot.
4.When option 3 not working, you can try to create a new home profile and see if anything changed.
while trying to merge pacnews together with meld, i’ve opened it with sudo and guess what, the themes was normal, the cursor was the same, so i tried to do so with sudo -E meld, and it failed to load the themes, so it means some env variable is wrong

okay. i removed the theme and set Adwaita-dark, guess what… xdg-desktop-portal-gtk is still crashing. it has nothing to do with it.
i will try to rename my .cache folder, will give you an update on that

You need to ask yourself, why only you have this problem and why it happen after the update. I have 2 systems with Manjaro KDE in use and i don’t have any issues with GTK.
Do you have a Timeshift snapshot to restore your system? That you maybe could update again.
i did not know it was was the xdpg at first, all i noticed that my cursor in gtk apps was different and the theme was default. i think i have given enough information for you not to advise me to set a different theme

Since you’re using KDE/Plasma, you should probably be using xdg-desktop-portal-kde rather than xdg-desktop-portal-gtk.
On my system, I don’t even have xdg-desktop-portal-gtk installed.
Uninstall that. You are using Plasma, so the only two portal packages you need are xdg-desktop-portal and xdg-desktop-portal-kde.
