Problem with AMD 9070XT GPU and TV

Hi, I have recently experienced similar issues with multiple Linux distributions including Manjaro. However, I am not sure if it is really the same issue as the one described here

I am on an AM4 system with an AMD 9070XT GPU that is only connected to an LG OLED TV. Now, if my system wakes from RAM or disk while the TV is off, the TV will not find a signal unless I unplug and replug the HDMI cable (or reboot, haven’t tried switching to TTY).

I was also suspecting my GPU to be the culprit, but as it works when the system wakes while the TV is on, I am not sure. And since all of you seem to be on NVIDIA GPUs, it might be something else. I found some forum post that mentions problems with recent versions of powerdevil on cachyos (but the suggested fix did not work for me on cachyos), and for me personally the problems began somewhere between the kernel versions 6.16 and 6.18.

Of course, it could also be an unrelated problem, but one thing we all seem to have in common is the CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X. Maybe a problem with older AMD CPUs?

UPDATE: Here is the output requested below (as a new user I am limited to one answer per topic).

I think the difference between a computer monitor and a television set is important in the context of connecting a computer to a television set.

Even though I have no electronic engineering insight into the inner workings of computer monitors and television sets - I do think they work differently.

Now that I think of it; my current display a Samsung LS49AG95 computer monitor and my previous GPU Radeon 7900XTX would not work if I powered the workstation before I powered the monitor.

I has become a habit now - I power my monitor before I power my workstation.

I don’t think this is a design flaw as such. It is just how it is.

Yeah, I also wondered about. Now that I know how to avoid it, it’s not too much of an issue, but I know it was not a problem a month or two ago and there seem to be rather many people reporting video wakeup issues here lately. So for now, my plan is to wait and see if an update fixes it.

I think I know your user name. It is possible that I bought a bladebook (was it called that) from you a couple of years ago?

That is possible - I sincerely hope it served you better than my pinebook pro - the plastic holding the lid hinges, it totally crumbled inside - as I recall the bladebook - it was the same chassis with A and D in alu.

Then it is a bit strange, I will give you that.

Actually, it’s still in a pretty nice condition. I only used it while traveling. At that price point, it was a really good deal in my opinion.

I am glad to hear that and I can safely say - it was not for the money I did it back then…

If I remember correctly my secretary asked you to send it via sticker mail?

EDIT: Speaking of stickers, do you still sell those manjaro stickers for the super key? I am also looking for a solution the copilot key problem…

Nothing of the kind anymore - I donated the lot to Philip at Manjaro and Bryan at EndeavorOS

I see, do you know if either of them have a webshop or something like that?

Also, I would like to ask if chatter like this is okay in an unrelated thread or if I should avoid that in the future.
