Problem running ProtonMail bridge on Manjaro

I installed the bridge and it seems to install but when I click on the Protonmail Bridge in the start menu it draws a window briefly and then disappears before I can read anything. It appears to not be running after that. I used the terminal commands

sudo pacman -Syu
pacman -Ss proton
extra/protonmail-bridge 3.12.0-1
Integrate ProtonMail paid account with any program that supports IMAP and SMTP (Qt desktop application)
extra/protonmail-bridge-core 3.12.0-1
Integrate ProtonMail paid account with any program that supports IMAP and SMTP (core executable and daemon)
extra/protontricks 1.11.1-2

sudo pacman -Syu extra/protonmail-bridge
sudo pacman -Syu extra/protonmail-bridge-core

If I try to run it thru the terminal I get some warnings like:
WARN[Jul 27 16:06:20.893] QGLXContext: Failed to create dummy context pkg=frontend/bridge-gui
WARN[Jul 27 16:06:21.106] qrc:/qml/Proton/Toggle.qml:77:17: Unable to assign [undefined] to int pkg=frontend/bridge-gui
before it exits

Any ideas as to what is the problem could be?

I was not aware the bridge had been released for Linux.

I build and use the proton-mail client from AUR

pamac build proton-mail

On other systems I use the webmail.

I cannot say what that is - perhaps it is designed to be launched from your application menu.

For the sake of verifying - I installed protonmail-bridge and launched it from the app launcher menu.

sudo pacman -Syu protonmail-bridge

It works as expected.

I also installed thunderbird-beta-bin to have desktop client to use the bridge.

@mr_underhill Please make protonmail-bridge insallation to Manjaro accoring to this: Installing Proton Mail Bridge for Linux using a PKGBUILD file | Proton
