Hey guys!
I recently moved across from Arch, all was great (love Manjaro), but I had a bit of a problem with my 3 monitor setup. My Samsung ultra wide would often not get recognized when starting X. I guessed this was due to its slow startup time. I always had to go into nvidia-settings to enable it after starting X.
Eventually I forced the kernel to always recognize it by adding the following to my xorg.conf:
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DP-0, DP-3, HDMI-0"
All was well until an update or 2 ago, and this no longer works. My Samsung monitor is always off until I go into nvidia-settings to enable it.
What’s worse, the following command I had aliased (to quickly cleanup layout) no longer works to switch it on. I can only enable the monitor from nvidia-settings:
xrandr --output DP-0 --primary --auto --pos 1920x1080 --output HDMI-0 --auto --pos 0x0 --output DP-3 --auto --pos 5360x836 --rotate right"
what has changed? any clues? help appreciated
cheers
here’s my 90-mhwd.conf

No worries: we live and we learn.
This is good:
What’s the output of xrandr
when it doesn’t work?
Did you do a monitor firmware upgrade? (Yes/no: no need to look for one at the moment)

Weirdly, I can’t recreate this error anymore. It just seems to work now!
Maybe an update “fixed” it?
anyway, thanks for your time Fabby
