Potential missing icon issue on some GTK3 applications

Hey everyone I noticed a issue where one some applications like vesktop-bin and nomachine having missing window icons when using the papirus-icon-theme and adwaita-icon-theme packages and reported the issue about specifically papirus theme to them directly. Has anyone else run into this issue on Gnome with certain apps?

Also this is a fresh installation on my laptop

Have any other examples?

I use my own fork of papirus and dont know of any missing icons, but I admittedly dont use any of the ones mentioned here (and I’d prefer not to if it isnt necessary).

Oh, I’m also on Plasma for all that matters.

Ah I see and not currently at the moment but I notice it happened after a update but weirdly enough the same thing did not happen on my desktop now that I check

I cleared my package cache in pamac and reinstalled them but still nothing, so wierd

Aright, fine

Imgur

vesktop-bin looks ok to me.

(as has everything else I think)

Well this does remind me I need to pull in new changes to my fork. So I guess I’ll do that soon.

I’m going to make this as solved, no idea why but I had to do a full restart to fix the issue and I don’t know why it did that haha

Thanks for replying, I was a little worried something worse was happening but it was just a glitch I guess

The AUR page has some grumblings about crashes possibly related to electron version so maybe that has something to do with it?

AUR (en) - vesktop-bin

Note that during my build/install I was prompted for electron31.

I also use wayland and have env var ELECTRON_OZONE_PLATFORM_HINT=wayland set.

Anyhoo. Glad it worked out.

Yeah I think it had to do with the icon theme itself and I needed to reboot not the AUR packages themselves as otehr AUR packages didn’t run into this issue (No idea why) but anyways I’m glad it’s fixed haha

Oh ok thanks for letting me know
