Posting links in forum

Why can’t links be posted in your forums ? Even your own wiki?

Whether one can post links or not depends on one’s Trust Level. TL0 (“Trust Level 0”) members are not allowed post links because of the risk that they’d be posting spam, and we do unfortunately get a lot of spammers signing up here.

For more information about Discourse Trust Levels, see the link below… :arrow_down:

New users are not permitted to post active links to prevent spam and bots.
Forum does allow users to post an inactve link in preformatted text, using </> button or Ctrl + E:

Users are usually promoted within 1-2 weeks and can access more forum functions, including posting links

Except for a small whitelist including manjaro.org and various pastebin like websites listed in the tutorial link you posted. :wink:

Ah, turns out subdomains need to be added manually. I’ll update the whitelist shortly.

It would be helpful to have more clear definitions for how that is supposed to work (cannot seem to find any in FAQ).
Just hoping to be able to post a fairly specific question that requires a few paragraphs of explanation with multiple relevant links.

Posting links unless internal should be avoided.

Posting links to blog posts, products, tutorials, youtube videos etc. should never be necessary if you are asking for help with a specific issue.

Your status shows you have been awarded Basic user status (Trust Level 1) but forum has not given you a badge to advise you of elevated privileges yet

Manjaro Linux Forum

This badge is granted when you reach trust level 1. Thanks for sticking around and reading a few topics to learn what our community is about. New user restrictions have been lifted; you’ve been granted all essential community abilities, such as personal messaging, flagging, wiki editing, and the ability to post multiple images and links.

@Yochanan
Please add http://alsa-project.org/db/ to whitelist so new users with audio problems can upload ALSA diagnostic data using alsa-info.sh

Not even if the link is to Manjaro’s WIKI ?

This has to do only with Manajaro WIKI nothing else.
