Relatively new to the Linux scene, so some stupid mistakes were made. I had recently switched my default terminal emulator to CoolRetroTerm, but unknown to me when using CRT as your default, right-clicking inside a folder and clicking “Open terminal here” does not actually open the terminal there. It just opens to root. I used ‘rm -rf’ to clear the folder I thought I was in and quickly realized my mistake. I cancelled it and everything seems fine now but whenever I try to update my packages it returns this:

No idea if that has anything to do with my mistake but any help would be appreciated.

You can try deleting the folder containing the desc file and then recreate the database entry the packages causing errors, wih the cached version : (got this from here)
sudo rm -rI /var/lib/pacman/local/nodejs-nopt-7.0.0-1
sudo pacman -U --dbonly /var/cache/pacman/pkg/nodejs-nopt-7.0.0-1
# then, update
sudo pacman -Syu
It just opens to root.
Do you mean it opened the terminal as root (superuser) or to / ? Where did it open it exactly ?
And btw, always double check when using rm -r, especially when you wanna delete critical files, also you can use the -I option instead of -f, it will ask for confirmation.
Without using “sudo” you can only do damage to files that belong to you with a recursive removal command.
If you where not running the file manager as root, the terminal can’t have been running as root either - so whatever problems you have do not originate from your episode.
I believe it only opened to the home folder ‘~’. My apologies.
I followed the instructions and it looks like it did try to update but the partition is too small.

I did, in fact, use “sudo”. I forgot to mention that in the original post. My mistake.
then you are in a state where you definitely did some damage, you just don’t know what and where or what will blow up next
not worth investing time in - IMO

run sudo paccach -rvk2, it will clean your cache and make some room (assuming it’s full of old packages versions), if it’s not avaiable, you’ll need to install pacman-contrib
Also you’ll need to to the previous commands with node-gyp and semver since pacman complains about them as well
From time to time this may happen to everyone 
1. Backup what you really need NOW
2. Reinstall
3. Use Timeshift or snapper in the future
So that you can undo such problems

probably,
no, certainly … a typo -
but the commands name is
paccache
and to gain max space
paccache -rvk0 could be used
or the contents of
/var/cache/pacman/pkg
completely deleted
sudo tune2fs -m 0 /dev/your_root_device
could also significantly increase the available space, depending on the size of the disk
… one would gain up to 5% of the disk capacity
But since @Klobberz
a) definitely did some damage
and
b) do not know to where or to what
he should restore from snapshot or reinstall
everything else is gambling and may and probably will be a huge waste of time
