Plasma wayland session with llvmpipe?

When I attempt to start a plasma wayland session via lightdm, after login I get a black screen at the time the plasma splash screen is supposed to appear. The X11 session works fine. I have tried with the compositor turn off on startup, but that does not seem to have an effect. All I can do is disconnect the power to reboot.

Should a wayland session work with llvmpipe? If I switch to v3d it works fine.

When I used to try wayland sessions on my Odroid, back when panfrost did not support it yet, the session would just crash on login. So I don’t think Wayland works well with llvmpipe.

I have not been successful in getting sddm to work with llvmpipe either.

Edit: This is not an issue for me, just an observation.
