The graphic system can be launched using lightdm but no login is possible.

Plasma session can’t be launched

I have no QT* variables in environment.

I thought this was due to the update to plasma 6.5 I did (branch testing). So I went back to stable. But the error persisted.

You have been a forum member long enough to know the procedure – if you have an issue open a new Support topic in the appropriate category.

Please do not add your Support issue to another member’s thread, especially not one that seems abandoned.

Your post has been moved to a dedicated topic. I’m sure someone will help when they are able.

I just tried to avoid duplicate threads. And his thread is recent enough with the same issue description

Nonetheless, that’s not how it’s done in the Manjaro forum. Always create a new topic so that others can focus on your problem exclusively, not someone else’s.

If you find another topic that you feel has similarities to your own, by all means, link to it in your own topic and explain why you think it might be related. Others can then refer to it if they wish.

A few quick questions:

  • Did you perform an update after switching to Testing/Unstable?
  • Did you allow downgrading when you performed an update after switching back to Stable?

Yep I used the usual API switch branches, then mirror clean, then pamac upgrade -enable-downgrade

I am switching between all branches (stable/testing/unstable) but the error persisted.

From a admin console I got these error

A quick test shows gnome can launch in Wayland

This is a sddm issue

Well, from this image, it seems you attemped to run the Greeter before sddm was loaded.

Loading sddm first might have made a difference.

Notice the line as sddm is loading? Starting X11 session: "" "/usr/bin/sddm-greeter-qt6 --socket ... the Greeter is loaded automatically after sddm.

The rest of the errors, I’m afraid, are above my paygrade.

If any AUR applications were a part of the update sessions performed with pamac, it’s possible the Arch DDoS attacks might have played a part.

This of course is only conjecture. I’ll defer to other community leaders and their opinions, in this instance.
