i’m using testing branch
i wanted to update plasma to version 6 from teminal with this command: sudo pacman -S plasma-workspace plasma-desktop gwenview dolphin baloo-widgets kate poppler-glib poppler-qt5
i wlways get a list of files that cannot be written
so i’ve added this to that command: --overwrite '*'
after rebooting the plasma desktop gui is not working
i tried to make a full system upgrade but i get an error:
sudo pacman -Syu
[sudo] password for pc:

yes plasma-workspace (6) require plasma-integration (6) and not plasma5-integration
why plasma5-integration would want to replace plasma-integration
I also had these inversions … pacman sorts packages alphabetically to resolve conflicts ?
i have a problem when trying a full upgrade
after few minutes the screen turns off and i cant turn it on again to see what is happening because of broken GUI
is there a command that i can run to prevent the system to lock the screen?
Plasma has manual sleep inhibition in the panel, through ‘presentation mode’ etc.
(click on the display or power tray icons)
You can can also do upgrades through the TTY.
Since the update to Plasma 6 is rather hefty … an abundance of caution can make sense … such as using default (breeze) themes, removing extra widgets, clearing cache, and/or resetting configurations entirely. In some situations one or more of these things may be required for a functional desktop.
