Plasma-browser-integration-host crashes in plasma 6.1

There is a known bug in plasma 6.1 wrt the firefox integration (488653 – plasma-browser-integration-host crashes in Firefox 127.0 after upgrade to Plasma 6.1). The issue is fixed in plasma 6.2.

Would like to know if Manjaro “stable” expects to update to plasma 6.2 soon or if there are reasons to stick to 6.1 for some more update cycles.

In the latter case, for distros stiking to 6.1, KDE developers suggest applying downstream the patch in libtaskmanager/waylandtasksmodel: disconnect from parentWindowChanged in dtor (56164676) · Commits · Plasma / Plasma Workspace · GitLab. Can this be considered?

You can switch to testing branch if you want Plasma 6.2 now. Otherwise, it will probably be in the next stable update.

If you monitor the Unstable Updates, Testing Updates, Stable Updates and System Updates categories, you will find out the answer yourself.

From reading there I see that 6.2.1 has some issue with its splash screen. That’s why I wondered if the idea was to leave plasma 6.2 to cook in testing a bit more before pushing it to stable.

That’s a simple fix too. Disable the splash screen because it is useless.
