Pi 4 Manjaro Gnome Update Problems

Hi.

Please bear in mind I am a totally new user to Manjaro and previously I have only used Ubuntu and Fedora.

So I downloaded the image for Pi 4 off the official Manjaro website and flashed it to an SSD via Raspberry Imager. The image was Manjaro 23.02.

First problem was a minor one in that the UK keyboard keys were wrong.

The second problem was a major one in that I can’t update the system. I tried sudo pacman -Syu and I tried pamac update. I run into these problems:

choose a provider for dbus units, I tried both options but still it can't update.

the update stops because of conflicting files. Namely '- webkitgtk-6.0: /usr/bin/WebKitWebDriver already exists in filesystem (owned by webkit2gtk-5.0.'.

How do I resolve this?

P.S. Would trying the most latest image from github (which is from 3 days ago) be a better option?

I would say yes. The image on the Downloads page is ancient. Those images really should be removed.

Hi.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry I put this thread in the wrong section (I am new to the forum).

If I get the most recent image, what would be the correct procedure to update Manjaro from the command line? Would ‘$ sudo pacman Syu’ be sufficient?

Thanks.

Correct.

Thanks,

I can’t wait to try it! I’ve been looking for a perfect OS for the Pi 4 to no avail. When I saw Manjaro Gnome (which is my favourite GUI) on YouTube using only 500-600MB I flipped out! And the stripped down look of Gnome on Manjaro is great. But when I had these problems with 23.02 I thought maybe Manjaro was too advanced for me and it broke my heart. Hopefully with the latest image I won’t run into these problems!
