Persistent error with bootable USB stick and the Plasma Desktop release

Okay, Is there any other things I need to change in my bios besides UEFI & Secure Boot?

Nothing comes to mind. Did you try using some other image?

just tried plasma minimal and XFCE minimal to no avail. I can’t find anything on older versions since the website appears to have changed (I assume).

I’m going to try some older versions and report back. Hopefully this will solve it!

Just tried XFCE-21.2.2 with no luck, unfortunately.

so if you are using uefi, do you boot the usb in uefi mode?
did you tried with open source drivers?
check if you have fastboot option in bios setting and disable it if its there
also enable AHCI mode in bios
delete the whole usb, create a new partition table, flash ventoy and try again

A bit late but, post hardware specs of your system.

Btw, linux mint uses these params for compatibility mode: noapic noacpi nosplash irqpoll nomodeset, so you can throw them into manjaro grub

Ryzen 7 5800X
EVGA RTX 2080 Super
M.2 SSD (for windows currently, but going to use for manjaro eventually)
32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB 3.6ghz RAM
2TB Samsung SSD (Planning to put manjaro here for now)

Also sorry for the noob question, but would I just write these commands in the grub terminal?

Thanks

You tried with proprietary drivers, right?

You press ‘e’ to edit whatever entry you have selected. Then append parameters at the end of ‘linux’ line.

Yes, I’ve tried both proprietary and open source.

I’ll give that a try once I get home!

I recommend attempting to change the software you wrote the usb with, I’m 100% sure that ot works very well with rufus , even the Manjaro wiki recommends it

And if you have Nvidia you 100% sure need the version with proprietary drivers

Look they’re talking about how to do it with rufus :
On the manajaro wiki

And secondly if it doesn’t work maybe try to download it through torrent , it definitely worked like that for me

From their official website

And if you don’t have a torrent client:

qBittorrent

I wish you good luck
