After recent gnome update i cannot open any pdf file.

Did you reboot?
Probably will help
pamac install poppler-glib cairo
then reboot …

tnx. i was using cairo-infinality-remix. swapping it for the default cairo fixed the issue. no restart needed.
edit: all fine after restart as well.
