Supposing the failure occurred in the previous boot:

journalctl --boot=-1 --priority=3 --catalog | less

less allows the user to manually browse through the output of the prepended command. Without it, the whole output would be printed at once, which is inconvenient while in TTY.
Use Page Up and Page Down to navigate, and Q to exit.

• no need to sudo for reading journalctl.
• use of | less is preferable so the whole lines are printed, yet still navigable.
