Problem:
I’ve just managed to connect my laptop to my TV via HDMI yesterday, but there’s no sound output from my TV.
What I’ve tried:
- I’ve looked in the sound settings but my laptop doesn’t recognise a HDMI sound output at all
- I’ve fiddled with
alsamixer
but it didn’t help. - Tried changing profile in
pavucontrol
to [Digital Stereo HDMI output + Analog Stereo] but it is says it’s unavailable. (Infact all the HDMI profiles show unavailable). - Tried killing and restarting pulseaudio using
pulseaudio -k
, and rebooted several times. - Looked around in the forum but didn’t find anything that could help.
