Pamac has several missing icons

The title of this issue is pretty self-explanatory. For some more context, I am using the Adwaita Icon theme. It seems to work fine when using the papirus-icon-theme. I already did some research, and according to this commit:

,It seems that some symbolic icons were removed. Upon further research, they were removed because applications had already started to include them in their packages.

Can this be fixed?

I’m not seeing any missing icons.

No, that wasn’t meant to be facetious. I can’t confirm what you have described in a fully updated Gnome instance. It’s likely the issue is local.

Please provide system information as described (below), and any other information when asked. I’m sure someone will help when they are able.

Regards.

As a new or infrequent forum user, please take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements, and the many ways to use the forum to your benefit:

Update Announcements

The Update Announcements contain important information and a Known Issues and Solutions section that should generally be checked before posting a request for support.

System Information

While information from *-fetch type apps might be fine for someone wishing to buy your computer, for Support purposes it’s better to ask your system directly; :eyes:

Output of the inxi command with appropriate parameters will achieve this (naturally, formatted according to forum guidelines) and will generally be more useful for those wishing to help:

inxi --filter --verbosity=8

or the short form:

inxi -zv8

Be prepared to provide output from other commands whenever asked. It’s equally important to provide as much actionable information as possible in your first post, rather than simply indicating there is a problem.

Adwaita icon theme isn’t FDO-compatible, so it will cause problems with all other apps that aren’t based on that LibAdwaita library.

That’s why Adwaita icon theme is filtered and excluded in KDE and Mint desktops. Even if those GNOME folks tried to appease non GNOME users and release what they ironically call “Adwaita icon theme legacy” only to abandon it.

I am not using the Adwaita (default) pictograms anymore and instead I am using now the Papirus-Dark-Maia pictograms.
