Pamac AUR packages prompt timeout hang

Not sure this belongs here…

I’m pretty sure in the past when I updated a package, in this case from AUR and the package takes a while to build, when it was done with the build it would prompt for authorization to install. It would wait until I happened to come back to the machine, possibly hours later.

In the last few weeks, the password prompt appears to time out and leave pamac hung. It is unresponsive and I need to kill it from a terminal. And, since the install has not completed, need to run the update again.

Is there a way to deal with this that doesn’t include me sitting and watching the build process for nearly an hour?

This might help. I have no idea if it can be set in pamac, yay, or which ever else, but this might be a way to do what you’re trying to do:

As far as I know, the authentication is handles by polkit, so that would be where or how to set the window timeout. As far as I know, anyway.
