Pacman: many packages show local to be newer

Running sudo pacman -Syu yields these warnings:

(I explicitly IgnorePkg’d openblas and pam because they broke my system a while back, see here)

I am on the testing branch, and have been for months. pacman-mirrors -G confirms this.

I’m wary of going through with the update. What should I do? Why is this happening?

If you want, you can sort the mirrors again.

If you want to sync with them, allowing the downgrade, you can use

sudo pacman -Syuu

I think phil rolled back some packages.

Please get in the habit of checking the announcement threads.

And by “sort the mirrors”, you mean sudo pacman-mirrors --fasttrack && sudo pacman -Syyu?

Yes. If there are still downgrades you want to sync then use 2 us as shown above.
