I ran sudo pacman -syu to update my system after turning it on for the first time im a few weeks and it says this

this only happened to me one other time when my internet wasent working, but it is currently working. i looked up a fix for this and found this pacman Failed to Update Core - unable to lock database - How to Fix
i followed the directions and ran sudo rm /var/lib/pacman/db.lck like it said to but it said no file directory and i tried finding the file myself but the file isnt there (at least the pacman part) and it still wouldent update
