I’m not sure if this is the right place to request packages, but - I would like to see this https://github.com/leia-uwu/obs-wayland-hotkeys added to the repositories as an optional dependency to obs-studio. It’s already in aur in the form of a -git package, but this requires manual installation and compilation.
Rationale for inclusion:
The package functions out of the box as described in it’s README.
Global shortcuts are fundamental part of recording/streaming.
It’s GPL-2.
I don’t think there’s any other method currently that gives global shortcut support for OBS on Wayland.
The repository seems to be actively maintained, and has had two recent releases so far.
I use them every time I use OBS i.e. four times a week at minimum.
Would I have to first also ask the maintainer whether it can distributed? (I’m new to packaging)
obs-studio in Manjaro extra is inherited from Arch

Yes, and? As I said: “It’s already in aur in the form of a -git package, but this requires manual installation and compilation.”
and
Global shortcuts are fundamental part of recording/streaming.
Edit: the current optdeps for obs-studio are:
libfdk-aac: FDK AAC codec support
libva-intel-driver: hardware encoding
libva-mesa-driver: hardware encoding
luajit: scripting support
python: scripting support
sndio: Sndio input client
v4l2loopback-dkms: virtual camera support
Are you saying scripting support is more important than functional hotkeys?
What @nikgnomic was saying is that Manjaro does not do the packaging for obs-studio - Arch (which Manjaro is based on) does.
So, you might be best requesting the Arch packagers to add the obs-wayland-hotkeys package to their repos. If they decide your request is valid and add it to their repos, it will automatically make its way across to Manjaro’s repos via Unstable branch first, then Testing, and then Stable.
