P2P miracast not working

I wanted to connect me to a Smart TV via Miracast. Unfortunately, I received an error message when activating P2P in the network settings.

What have I done:

  1. installed GNOME networkdisplays
2.set the WIFI P2P Option to active
  2. click on the P2P settings Icon

Result I
As a result, a modal window popped up and showed the error message:
“Error processing the connection: A connection with the UUID (null) could not be found.”

In GNOME network display I see the TV but the connect fails.

What ist wrong or missing?

Moderator edit: In the future, please use proper formatting: [HowTo] Post command output and file content as formatted text

Have you tried gnome-network-displays-git?

Note that I fixed your formatting–this time. Please see [HowTo] Post command output and file content as formatted text

:+1: Thanks, I was wondering how I could do that.

actual installed is Gnome-network-displays -Should the Gnome-network-displays-git package be seen as an addition or replacement?

In the meantime I installed Gnome-network-displays-git. The behavior is exactly the same.

An user says that dnsmasq is required.

gst-plugins-good and dnsmasq are ready installed. According to the reference you gave, I can only see my TV because the dnsmasq package is installed.
Otherwise the debug output seems to correspond to my problem.
(gnome-network-displays:2264): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: 17:43:55.998: gst_element_send_event: assertion ‘event != NULL’ failed

The dialogue in the forum you linked ends in a debate about non-exit keys for a gst-rtsp server.

At this point I’m out of there. You can learn a lot about package dependencies, but that doesn’t help me solve my problem myself.

I am grateful for further constructive and helpful suggestions.

The behavior is exactly the same with another much newer Smart TV.

I started gnome-network-displays in the terminal, here is the result:

"** (gnome-network-displays:2326): WARNING **: 17:24:21.496: Error calling DBus method during Screencast portal initialization: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Keine derartige Schnittstelle »org.freedesktop.portal.ScreenCast« des Objekts im Pfad /org/freedesktop/portal/desktop

** (gnome-network-displays:2326): WARNING **: 17:24:21.496: Falling back to X11! You need to fix your setup to avoid issues (XDG Portals and/or mutter screencasting support)!

It would certainly be interesting to remove these warnings. Who can support me?
