Overheating issue

Half of the time when booting, my laptop starts to overheat and goes up to 90C in idle mode (checking with sensors command). The fans work, they spin really loud. This issue can be fixed by rebooting and then the idle temperature stays at around 60-65C (still high). Using AMD Ryzen. I have tlp and thermald installed and running. No issues on Windows 10. Any suggestions on how to fix?

You can use external fan for your laptop. I always use that. You can plug it in with a charger or your USB slot on your laptop.

Sorry, that wasn’t a great suggestion. Could you kindly give me your system specs. (With hardware and os specification)

It seems the power management is not working for some device. Can you provide more information about your hardware? Please read here:

Please give us a htop screenshot or something when the laptop is hot. It may give us the information which process(s) cause the overheat.

I’ve opened htop and saw that mailspring (an email client) takes lots of cpu. It started at boot and ran in the background. So I uninstalled it and I had no issues since.
It appears to be a known bug in mailspring: HIGH CPU USAGE · Issue #1344 · Foundry376/Mailspring · GitHub

Thanks for the help, guys!
