Half of the time when booting, my laptop starts to overheat and goes up to 90C in idle mode (checking with sensors command). The fans work, they spin really loud. This issue can be fixed by rebooting and then the idle temperature stays at around 60-65C (still high). Using AMD Ryzen. I have tlp and thermald installed and running. No issues on Windows 10. Any suggestions on how to fix?
You can use external fan for your laptop. I always use that. You can plug it in with a charger or your USB slot on your laptop.

Please give us a htop screenshot or something when the laptop is hot. It may give us the information which process(s) cause the overheat.

I’ve opened htop and saw that mailspring (an email client) takes lots of cpu. It started at boot and ran in the background. So I uninstalled it and I had no issues since.
