It took 7 months from the time I paid for it in December 2023.
According to Starlabs this was because the December order conflicted with Chinese New Year, and caused them to get several months behind on their orders.
Anyway, finally the computer has arrived, pre installed with Manjaro Linux, KDE Plasma 6.05.
Here’s the specs:
Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2
Kernel Version: 6.6.40-1-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 4 × Intel® N200
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Graphics
Manufacturer: Star Labs
Product Name: StarLite
System Version: 1.0
It looks pretty good, it’s nice to handle both as a Laptop style computer and as a Tablet.
It arrived pre setup in X11 mode, I’m assuming that is the Manjaro default, but the set up went through faultlessly. I did have to reboot it after changing the scale factor to 175% in X11 mode. After I installed the relevant software, and re logged in in Wayland mode, Wayland rescaled in real time.
The only issue I have is actually with KDE Plasma, it seems, from my search of the problem, that in Tablet mode the screen won’t rotate with KDE, at least with the current version of KDE Plasma. GNOME apparently works fine, though I have not tried it.
Fortunately, for me, my partner doesn’t care that Screen rotate isn’t working.
