Continuing the discussion from Kernel update also runs grub to deploy new boot code …but:
Quite, and it’s in there alright, uncommented. But asking someone who installs Manjaro for the first time to first go tweaking files seems a little off to me.
What do you mean by watch your language? It was humor in case you hadn’t noticed AND it was aimed at myself, my highness as a multi-OS pervert.
When Os-Prober runs on multi-OS systems IT can become a nightmare (another topic). But in spite of this when I install a distro for the first time I like to have it run Os-Prober so that at least once THAT new OS will have done all the grub ritual. Normally I just have the same OS do the grub bit all the time, in my case at the moment that’s Tumbleweed. What WOULD be in order would be an alert for multi-OS users that Os-Prober will/will-not be run by default.
