Hi, I recently started my move from Windows to Linux and it’s been really smooth so far but the OpenGL drivers seem to have some issues, all my OpenGL games look like this, I know I can’t include links but I need to show what’s going on, as it’s purely visual and I don’t get an error or anything:
drive.google. com/file/d/1KxkH-8gJnv-o7JLxDPvcke3FNj5TclVp/view?usp=sharing
drive.google. com/file/d/1fn2PrWY3NM4slSnBv82FlT-cQ17eLJP2/view?usp=sharing
Models get this distortion which is sometimes a lot more dramatic and performance also seems to be affected when they’re on screen, I haven’t been able to find someone with the same issue, on Windows I don’t have this issue but I’d rather be able to play most of what I can here that performance is much more stable and as most of what I play are old games which need OpenGL.
Any idea of what’s happening? The Intel drivers are installed, so I’m not sure of what to do about this.
Welcome here
Well, the Intel drivers are built into the Kernel. Have you tried other Kernels to see if it still persists, in case it was just regression in your current kernel?
I have a laptop with a i7-7600U
(or i7-7660U
, don’t remember) and haven’t encountered this myself.
Also, can you please provide the output of inxi -Fza
? Please put ``` before and after your output so that it’s easier to read.
Also also, how are you running your games? WINE? .bin files? Steam (Native or Proton)? Lutris?

Thank you for the welcome!
Yes, installed another Kernel just before responding, issue persists.

Native Linux games both with and without Steam while Proton games do the same, that seems to make no difference.
