This picom transparency badly effecting on ranger or lf file manager image preview’s. So decided to kill picom and give transparency with their own config files. I set opacity: 0.8 in . config/alacritty/alacritty.yml and also tried background_opacity. the remaining things like “x offset , padding , font, cursor” are working perfectly fine except transparency…
Hmm. Just curious, what driver are you using? Nouveau per chance? Because I use Nouveau, I recently started using the venerable and very simple xcompmgr for my compositor. I like the fade in and out effects.
Hmm. Looks like there are not many picom users in the group.
Xcompmgr is so darn easy, you might want to give it a try. Just click and download to install then put it in autostart. Here is a basic config using command line switches. It gives fade in fade out effects.
