I have been wondering about the differences between official and community editions, are there any downsides to using community editions? Are they well maintained and up to date? I’m in kde for now but i have been wondering about openbox and i3, the only thing i don’t like about kde is the compositing because it’s a bit of a performance hit and i get screen tearing if i disable the compositor.

If that doesnt clear it up for you … maybe it should be understood that each ISO/Profile/Edition is just the base system. Which Desktop environment is used, what configurations or applications are included by default, etc. After that they all use the manjaro repos so there is no difference in available software or updates.
