Odroid C2 don't boot with last build image

Hi,

Please supply this information when submitting a bug report.

*What device are you using?
Odroid C2

*What edition of Manjaro-ARM is installed? (eg minimal, server, etc.)
I built KDE and LXQt images

sudo buildarmimg -d oc2 -e kde-plasma -v 2022.02.14 -b testing -n

sudo buildarmimg -d oc2 -e lxqt -v 2022.02.14 -b testing -n

*Describe the bug the best you can. What where you doing when the bug happened?
The last Images I built for the Odroid C2 don’t start as well, I tried with emmc and sd card
KDE and LXQt desktop.

*Any workarounds or known fixes?

the extlinux.conf file is looking so

LABEL Manjaro ARM
KERNEL /Image
FDT /dtbs/amlogic/meson-gxbb-odroidc2.dtb
APPEND initrd=/initramfs-linux.img console=ttyAML0,115200n8 root=PARTUUID=2a660000-02 rw rootwait quiet splash plymouth.ignore-serial-consoles

the device boot, the Manjaro logo appears and then blinking underscore.

I searched more info with this old post, but nothing significant

Thanks in advance for your help.

Without UART logs, it’s hard to say what it could be.

I assume the PARTUUID of the root partition matches what’s in the extlinux.conf file?

I think the issue is still that the kernel address needs to be moved, like on the Odroid N2. But, I’m not sure how to do that via extlinux.conf, but we do it in the N2’s boot.ini file.

Thanks for your reply

How to check it ?

I search some difference with the working and no working image, I don’t find.

To check the PARTUUID of connected disks run lsblk -o NAME,PARTUUID.

It looking so

[nls@lap ~]$ lsblk -o NAME,PARTUUID
NAME PARTUUID
sdc
├─sdc1 2a660000-01
└─sdc2 2a660000-02
[nls@lap ~]$

Yep, seems to match. My bet is on the kernel address thing then.

The last images I built are build with the linux-vim 5.14.10-1 kernel

the last screenfetch I did is looking so
Kernel: aarch64 Linux 5.14.10-1-MANJARO-ARM

[nlc2@c2 ~]$ screenfetch

Kernel are same.

Have you tried linux-odroid kernel?

no, how to do that ?

Change the oc2 profile from using linux-vim to linux-odroid and build a new image.

are you agree ?

thanks to @Lila-Kuh to give help, is your XFCE C2 running well ?
absolute no issue with the Odroid C4 KDE, the install is near 2 years old !
