Nvidia Settings Empty

I installed the video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime package from the Hardware Configuration section, but the nvidia-settings section is empty.

inxi -G

  Device-1: Intel HD Graphics 5500 driver: i915 v: kernel
  Device-2: NVIDIA GM108M [GeForce 840M] driver: N/A
Device-3: Chicony USB2.0 VGA UVC WebCam type: USB driver: uvcvideo
  Display: x11 server: X.Org v: 21.1.3 driver: X: loaded: modesetting
    gpu: i915 resolution: 1366x768~60Hz
OpenGL: renderer: Mesa Intel HD Graphics 5500 (BDW GT2)
    v: 4.6 Mesa 22.1.2

You have to understand how it works in order to understand why nvidia-settings is “empty”

and more about it

So, on Prime Offload you have to use:

prime-run <application>

in order to use the dGPU, but, you also installed video-linux and that is the nouveau driver and will interfere with the nvidia modules.
