Hello to all,

thanks in advace to help me to solve this my issue :frowning:

Luca

From my own experience (both in ubuntu and in manjaro) unfortunately noveau was never a good alternative for nvidia cards, the only thing I can suggest is to install the 5.4 kernel (LTS) and see if manjaro freezes there. In my case, since I have an old video card (geforce 210) and when the proprietary driver is removed from the repository, directly in the hardware configuration option, uninstall the video-linux driver, that is, in theory "you would not have any installed driver "and for now kernel 5.4 (with support until 2025, according to the official kernel.org page) works without problems and kernel 5.10 freezes especially when I use configuration applications or thunar and slows down when I watch several videos (indistinctly in chomium or in firefox)
Clarification: English is not my native language

hello gec thanks for your feedback, about your english, no problem, also my english isn’t the best  , i’m italian  , so, i try to follow two different way:

first remove noveau driver with nvidia driver
if issue will appear again, I will change also the version of my kernel, you are using the 5.4 version because do you have same issue like mine?

problemi uguali a manjaro:

I stumbled upon a similar problem (same nouveau kernel error lines in the journal) with a GeForce 9600GT, however, in my case the machine ran flawlessly with the nouveau driver for several years. I suspect a regression in kernel 5.10, now testing with 5.9.
