Nvidia & Eizo CG277: blank screen?

Dear all,

here’s a strange observation and two questions: I have a computer with an “AMD GPU” (contained in the Ryzen chip) plus an Nvidia A600. The computer is connected to an Eizo CG277 screen via an Oehlbach switch.

Everything was fine until I installed the Nvidia drivers to actually make use of the graphics card.

Now, I can only display anything when the CG277 is directly connected (via a DVI->HDMI adapter) to the graphics card upon startup of the computer and remains connected. As soon as the connection to the screen is cut once, the screen will remain blank until the computer is restarted. The same happens if the computer is connected to the screen via the switch upon startup. It is not possible to use the switch any longer. How can this be corrected? Also, the computer can’t be connected to another screen via USB-C any longer.

Actually, I would like to make the AMD GPU my standard graphics card again, and use the Nvidia only for selected programs like darktable or LLM inference. Is that possible at all?

I did try to use nvidia-xconfig to create an /etc/X11/xorg.conf file to make the AMD GPU work again (even remembered to convert 0x75 of lspci into 117 for the config bus definition), but that didn’t bring back the AMD display connection.

Anyway, here’s the unamended xconfig file:
