If you still have libxnvctrl-580xx installed replace it with libxnvctrl. I don’t understand why Manjaro settings manager shows video-nvidia-580xx would be installed. If this is correct you are still on the old version. I assumed by now you managed to install linux71-nvidia-open together with nvidia-utils and nvidia-settings. Then you also need libxnvctrl. There shouldn’t be anything with 580xx on your system except for mhdw-... stuff which is merely data for the “Manjaro Linux Hardware Detection Database”. Regarding the actual drivers everything with 580xx should be gone - and there is nothing that can prevent this. Nothing depends on outdated driver versions except for other outdated versions of packages that also have to replaced with their new version.

I think that I did correctly solved with pamac now: install libxnvctrl and uninstall libxnvctrl-580xx.. in the same run.
I am not happy with the gpu usage in gaming but it is not a driver’s problrm I guess.
Please notice though that new drivers could need new kernel versions to come into play. The other thing i noticed is while your cpu/gpu combo makes sense you have
slow DDR4 RAM. I think it would be beneficial to have 3200 MT/s. This slow RAM speed could slow the cpu down (which keeps the fps down, since the gpu keeps waiting for the cpu).
