Nvidia Card not Recognized After Kernel Update

Hello,

I installed Manjaro KDE using the 5.15 installer. Everything worked using video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime aside from some major DPI issues. I would like to upgrade my kernel version, though. And no matter what other kernel I try, my nvidia card is no longer recognized. I can only see my nvidia card when I run kernel 5.15. Running kernel 5.19, I see the following system information

inxi --full --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host                                                                   ✔

This is what I see in the Hardware Configuration

Hi @bdolan4,

Since you have

it might be related to:

So try using the 470 driver.

his nvidia is working on the 5.15 kernel, so its probably the ibt bug:
kate /etc/default/grub
and inside this line: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT inside the quotes add this parameter:
ibt=off
dont remove anything from there, just add it to existing parameters, save the file, update grub:
sudo update-grub
now you should be able to use nvidia also on newer kernels…

This seems like it worked, actually! Thank you! Do you have a link to where I can read about this bug? I’d like to try and figure out why that worked and I’d also like to keep up with the status of any possible future fix for it.

you can check this:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA#Installation
its under ‘Note’
