Hello,
since the big update that brought the KDE Plasma Version to 6.2 the GPU fans speed up like crazy in idle mode, while surfing, small updates etc.
Just for a comparison in Win and Kubuntu I am playing games like Horizon Zero Dawn or God of War and I can barely hear the fan’s. But as soon as I am starting Manjaro I can hear them in the next room just during updates where the GPU isnt really used.
I do not want to set the fan speed manually because I have no experience with that (even less under Linux), but this noise is unbearable. I cannot even watch a YT vid without the fans speeding up, slowing down every few seconds.

is below the perl locale stuff.
Meanwhile I have updated the Kernel to 6.12.11.1. (fascinating how easy that is in Manjaro) but the problem persists.
You (and we) may find it helpful for you to read the HowTo Post section of the wiki.
You may find a thing or two about formating (like using ``` on a single line in front and past some text) to make your infos readable.
I dont understand 80 % of the Linux wikis.
e.g. it says install pkgstats but trying to install it gives a “target not found” error.
If I understood them I wouldnt need to seek help in the forum. If one needs a wiki to understand a wiki (or to post in a forum) it gets too complex.

What says install pkgstats?
A target not found error means the package can’t be found in the local database. That would usually mean, as in this case, that the package doesn’t exist.

The forum has certain presentation guidelines, and information aimed at helping Members ask effective questions, and provide information required to assist others who might wish to help.
Links such as those already given are designed to empower you to create generally more useful Support requests that will attract quality responses from the community.
Spending a few minutes to read and understand what is required from you can only be beneficial.
I see nothing complex about that.

Welcome to the Manjaro community
As a new or infrequent forum user, please take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements; in particular, the many ways to use the forum to your benefit:
Required Reading:

Update Announcements:
The Update Announcements contain update related information and a Known Issues and Solutions section that should generally be checked before posting a request for support.
System Information:
Output of this command (formatted according to forum requirements) may be useful for those wishing to help:

Be prepared to provide more information and outputs from other commands when asked.

Note that the above text is partially pre-prepared as a general introduction for new forum Users. Please take the time to follow links given and learn how to create effective Support requests to encourage quality responses.
In the forum rules: Please use a pastebin service when posting large amount of code or long logs.
Clicking on that says: " Please consider installing the pkgstats package, which provides a timer that sends a list of the packages installed on your system, along with the architecture and the mirrors you use"
I tried sudo pacman -Syu pkgstats and
yay -S pkgstats
Both dont find any package.
So it is not needed then?
I had a question, got prompted to read a wiki about formatting where the word “format” or “formating” does not even appear when searching for it and the discussion ends up being about the format rather than about the PROBLEM! I find that sad.

The link is out of date, it’s meant to take you to information about pastebin services, but the destination page has changed and it no longer exists (it’s on a different page ). Instead you’re taken to the top of the page, which shows an unrelated request for data collection using pkgstats.
The package seems to be Arch specific. Manjaro doesn’t have it.
Correct, it’s not needed.
We’re only human, mistakes happen. Perhaps this is what they meant:

Formatting differences
Discourse – this forum’s engine – uses Markdown to format its posts, and removes “unnecessary” whitespace.
Terminal commands often produce output formatted so that they are better readable by the user, taking advantage of the monospaced font used.
Programming code often rely on indentation to make it more readable.
Using preformatting in Markdown
Markdown includes a pattern to provide preformatting when necessary.
You only need to put the part to form…
Like it or not formatting is important. If things are formatted incorrectly it’s difficult to read, and it’s easy to miss things. Compare the current formatting of post #3 with the previous formatting, you’ll see it’s now much easier to read.
You’ll likely get better help if people can easily read about your issue and gain an
accurate understanding.
It’s usually just a short diversion and then back to the issue at hand. However it can distract from the issue if there’s too much conversation about it.
Unfortunately, I have no suggestions regarding your actual issue. So I’ll leave that to others.
