Not letting me mount drives through dolphin after a system crash

hi, I was installing a game through steam and then my pc froze while the installer was installing some additional files

when I rebooted my computer I couldn’t see my drive on steam and when I tried to mount it through dolphin it just says

[An error occurred while accessing ‘223.6 GiB Internal Drive (sdd1)’, the system responded: The requested operation has failed: Error mounting system-managed device /dev/sdd1: Unknown error when mounting /home/rotip309/SDD]

the drive is working. since can mount it using KDE partition manager and it shows up

yes, it shows up
but:
can you mount it?

Perhaps the file system is “dirty” and needs to be checked/repaired.
(that’s only speculation)

Share info on your system and the file system on the drive.

Why would you mount a drive to somewhere inside your $HOME?

shows up on dolphin but its just give me that error through dolphin, but I can still mount the drive using the konsole too. the file system of the drive is ext4

probably the file system is “dirty” considering that my system crashed while I opened and updated the game

about why I would mount my drive somewhere in my /home? made the folder in there as a test a completely forgot about it, I know how to make a dir in /mnt/

some people here have prepared a post explaining how to post and how to share system info
even though it is all in the forum rules and introduction

Perhaps one of them will appear here and repeat that for you.

I myself have very little experience with Plasma, Dolphin, graphical tools in general.
Can’t help further.

except to recommend to make sure your system is fully up to date and to have rebooted afterwards

when you posted this, it was in an editor like window that opened
it had some symbols in the top row

highlight everything, click the symbol

Oh I got it now. thanks.

edited the info, now should be readable

/dev/sdd1 was unmounted when you created your output

check it / have it checked:
sudo fsck -v /dev/sdd1
or, since you know it is ext4
sudo fsck.ext4 -v /dev/sdd1

Beyond that I have no idea. :man_shrugging:

According to your drive list , you have 4 storage drives.

But according to your partition list , you do not have a partition in /dev/sdd drive.
So you are trying to mount a partition that does not exist.

it’s there - just unmounted
it is in the output
after “swap”

this is the drive im trying to mount through dolphin, its being detected by both konsole and KDE partition manager

it’s all there in the inxi output
no screenshots, please
have it checked for errors and whatnot

it’s good that it isn’t mounted - it needs to not be mounted
(that was bad english: it can’t be mounted … would have been better)
for the check and possible repair to work

ah, my bad.

What is your output of /etc/fstab?

/dev/sdd1: clean, 2290/14655488 files, 20437819/58606848 blocks

good - then that is not the problem :sunglasses:

however:

this probably is

it is ext4 - not ntfs
as it says in /etc/fstab

looks like conflicting information

and:
you really should use UUID’s instead of device names in /etc/fstab

hmm… you’re faster to type.

no, I use the two finger and visual system
three fingers sometimes …-
never learned to type blind and with all ten fingers
I just saw it before you. :sunglasses:

yeah just noticed it… ops ^^", also the main reason why it has names its since just moved from windows 10 to manjaro a few weeks ago and recently formatted my /sdd1 to have it as ext4 INSTEAD of ntfs
