Yes… I linked to that above. I am fully aware.

I don’t know what you’re trying to say. Please be specific.

Remove GTK2 from the official repositories - Arch-dev-public - lists.archlinux.org

I’ll drop these packages to AUR in the next days if it’s
not possible to build them without GTK2.

upgpkg: 1.13.4+r202+gc83787a-1: Update to git snapshot, which uses JUCE instead of gtk2 for the GUI (e93bf720) · Commits · Arch Linux / Packaging / Packages / amsynth · GitLab

upgpkg: 0.90.8-5: Disable GUI (removes gtk2 dependency) (1a0eafbe) · Commits · Arch Linux / Packaging / Packages / calf · GitLab

upgpkg: 2.2-8: Disable GUI (removes gtk2 dependency) (3520ecf6) · Commits · Arch Linux / Packaging / Packages / eq10q · GitLab

upgpkg: 1.1.1-4: Replace gtk2 interface with text-only user interface (a6c6d052) · Commits · Arch Linux / Packaging / Packages / hexter · GitLab

Excuse me, how is randomly listing only a few package commits of many going to help?

This is becoming a bit ridiculous. I’m going to move this to separate topic. It’s not helping anyone else.

I kinda fail to see the problem here. It is a process. Package by package upstream will rebuild until there is no gtk2 dependencies anymore. Until then better keep something unused than removing a lot of stuff and suddenly realizing it is still needed for package XY which fails to rebuild.
Besides taking some space on the mirrors this doesn’t hurt.

amsynth and hexter are soft synths: calf and eq10q are DSP plugins

Commits confirm audio packages have been updated to remove/replace gtk2 dependency
