No sound when starting videos

Unfortunately, since today I have no sound when starting videos, for example on YouTube, although my speakers are working and producing sound when tested. What could be the reason for this? I use Manjaro-KDE

You muted for example firefox. It is saved automatically and will only change until you unmute it.

Oh dear! Firefox plays the videos with sound! But Google Chrome doesn’t! I can’t find the sound playback in Google Chrome!

While playing a video with audio in Chrome, click on the Volume icon in your system tray & select the “Applications” tab:

Make sure that Chrome is not muted. If Chrome doesn’t appear at all in that tab while it is playing a video, then it may be something to do your playback settings on Chrome. I’ve never used Chrome, but I’m sure others here will be able to provide guidance if required.

Thank you so much! This part of your message was the solution for me! I actually right-clicked on the speaker symbol displayed within the Google Chrome symbol in the taskbar. In the menu that popped up, I could see that the speakers were muted.
After deactivating the mute function, everything worked perfectly!
