No sound via speakers after unplugging headphones

Since a few updates ago I keep loosing audio via my laptop’s speakers when I have my headphones plugged in and remove them. The system switches to the speakers profile but no matter what I try (restarting wireplumber, pipewire etc. via e.g. systemctl --user restart wireplumber pipewire pipewire-pulse) I can’t get the laptop to make a beep over the speakers anymore after having used my headphones. The only solution I am aware of at this point is to restart my computer. BTW: I can plug in the headphones and they work without any problems at any time.

I deleted all the settings files, reinstalled the packages, no dice.

Is there someone out there who may have a solution to my problem or is reinstalling maybe a viable path to success in my case?

Here’s my system information:

try pulse instead of pipewire

sudo pacman -Rdd pipewire-pulse
sudo pacman -S manjaro-pulse

reboot, test and report

you can reverse it if there’s no change by simply reverse the above to

sudo pacman -Rdd manjaro-pulse
sudo pacman -S pipewire-pulse

Sound cutting many times after installing manjaro-pipewire, can’t install manjaro-pulse back

Metapackages manjaro-pipewire and manjaro-pulse are intended to allow users to switch between audio servers easily, but manjaro-pulse does not work as intended
Cant switch back from manjaro-pulse to manjaro-pipewire to manjaro-pulse

PulseAudio packages can be installed discretely without using the metapackage:

1. pamac remove manjaro-pipewire
2. pamac install pulseaudio

Do not select any additional packages when requested
This should install pulseaudio and pulseaudio-alsa

3. pamac install pulseaudio-bluetooth

Thanks for your suggestions but I need PipeWire for my music production work.
