Sorry - I have no idea how to use any of the information in those links. All four VMs had sound previous to the last updates.
How about downgrading the qemu-audio packages?
which sound source have you set in kvm ? ac97 , ich6 or ich9 ? have you tried to change this setting ?
I am using ich9, but I tried the others. None work.
Resolution:
Since I could not find a solution with Manjaro as host, I decided to simply import my VMs into a Fedora Workstation host (on the same computer). I found the VMs all have sound there, so there they will stay.
