After setting up my Bluetooth headset, my laptop speaker stopped showing up.
The microphone never worked on my acer swift 3 but the speaker always worked. I’m hoping to get the speaker working again.

If I type “pulseaudio” it fails
pulseaudio
E: [pulseaudio] pid.c: Daemon already running.
E: [pulseaudio] main.c: pa_pid_file_create() failed.

I installed below plus the latest kernel 5.10.2 to try to get the mic working.
I’m pretty sure the bluetooth is what killed the speaker. It worked before.
pamac install sof-firmware

I tried changing the kernel… but that did not work.

Please post the output of sudo dmesg | egrep -i '(snd|sof|alsa|hda)' and pa-info.

The painfo had a failure but also spat out lots of stuff.
The command failure is listed after the first command…
The output from the successful part of painfo was piped to a file and then pasted here.
If you want to make this post more tidy … feel free … code window didn’t work.

    $ sudo dmesg | egrep -i '(snd|sof|alsa|hda)'

i’m leaving manjaro… can’t deal with the extra problems for me. Plus installing gparted gave 4gb download because it updated… i’m not on an unlimited system
thanks for the help… i’m also having trouble accessing my data drive now too
it is read only… i need to make backups

The new OS also does not have a sound card system. Looks like my system is foobar. However there are other problems with manjaro that I’m not ready for. Mostly the download bandwidth penalty for being "always up to date "

Just a follow-up. It is working again… not sure how, but here are the total steps I did. I have noticed that Windows boot had crashed as well and was not recoverable. I finally made a woeusb recovery disk and then upgraded the BIOS. The sound still did not work in windows or deepinos. I then deleted DeepinOS and installed kde neon. But after another 2nd or 3rd boot in Windows… I noticed windows re-wrote to my bios and changed the boot order The sound magically started working again. Also the battery is showing almost double run times… not sure what is going on … but don’t buy an Acer.
